On March 13, 2026, Zhejiang Hisun Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. (“Hisun”) and PiSA Farmacéutica (“PiSA”), Mexico’s largest pharmaceutical company, launched their strategic partnership through a cross-border video conference. Hisun Chairman and President Weihong Xiao, together with PiSA CEO Heriberto Castañeda Gomez, signed a strategic cooperation memorandum, formalizing a deep collaboration in key areas including APIs, preparations, and animal health products. The two companies will leverage their respective core strengths to jointly expand into the pharmaceutical markets of Mexico, Latin America, and the global stage. Core leadership teams from both sides, along with Hisun US team, witnessed the signing online.

As a pioneer of Chinese pharmaceutical globalization, Hisun has been at the forefront of opening doors to international high‑end markets since the 1990s, when it became one of the first Chinese pharma companies to pass U.S. FDA inspections via technological breakthroughs, thereby breaking the foreign monopoly.

Hisun Chairman and President Weihong Xiao described the company’s evolution from “selling products overseas” to a broader “Internationalization 2.0” strategy on technology, manufacturing, capital, and talent collaboration-as a key step toward high-quality, long-term growth. PiSA, Mexico’s largest pharma group with 80 years of experience, brings local market access, mature production operations, and a wide regional distribution network. These strengths align smoothly with Hisun’s integrated value chain and international strategy. In the future, Hisun will advance this partnership with sincerity and concrete actions, ensuring high-quality medicines reach more patients around the world.

PiSA CEO Heriberto Castañeda Gomez expressed strong confidence in the collaboration. He noted that Hisun is a benchmark player in the Chinese pharmaceutical industry, with world-class capabilities in API development, preparation R&D, and manufacturing, and a leading role in driving Chinese pharma globalization. The new strategic partnership with Hisun provides PiSA with a valuable opportunity to extend its international footprint and enhance its research, development, and manufacturing capabilities.
This partnership marks a key milestone and signature move in Hisun’s Internationalization 2.0 journey. Looking ahead, Hisun will continue to pursue open, collaborative growth in the global pharma marketplace. Beyond exporting products and technologies, the company aims to bring a stronger sense of responsibility and purpose to the global health landscape, helping Chinese pharmaceutical innovation contribute an increasingly prominent voice to worldwide healthcare.
