Hisun has officially opened its R&D center in Shanghai

On March 10, the launch ceremony for Hisun’s R&D Center in Shanghai was successfully held at the Huichuang Valley Research Building of Fenglin International. Dr. Liming Liu, a member of Hisun’s Strategic Science Advisory Committee, Chairman and President Weihong Xiao, and other members of the senior management team attended the event.

President Weihong Xiao highlighted that the official opening of the Shanghai R&D Center marks a strategically significant milestone in the company’s history. It symbolizes Hisun’s shift from generic drug manufacturing to innovation-driven development and from purely industrial production toward digital and intelligent operations.

The Shanghai R&D Center will take on three core missions:

First, to become a source of cutting‑edge technology by establishing a differentiated R&D system with Hisun character.

Second, to serve as a hub for top-tier talent, assembling a research team with an international perspective.

Third, to act as an active participant in global innovation, establishing broad collaboration with leading global research ins

titutions and innovative enterprises.

Dr. Houjiang Zhou, Deputy General Manager of the R&D Center and Dean of the Innovative Drug Research Institute, stated that the Shanghai R&D Center will focus on frontier technology such as AI-enabled drug discovery, oligonucleotide therapeutics, and next-generation small-mollecule drugs. At the same time, the center will connect with world‑leading research resources to build a collaborative, cross-disciplinary innovation ecosystem, providing continuous momentum for Hisun’s transition from generic manufacturing to innovation-driven growth.

Leveraging Shanghai’s position as a key international city, the Shanghai R&D Center will concentrate on innovative drug development and high-end complex formulations. The center has already established in-depth partnerships with multiple world-class research institutions and innovative companies in fields such as AI, laying a solid foundation for future technological breakthroughs and pipeline development.
